It’s the season where many take time to look back on the events that have happened through the year, and we here at CSE are no different. We have so much to be thankful for in 2021 and look forward to so many incredible changes and growth in 2022. This holiday season we say thank you for your loyal membership and constant support, we also say thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteer Board of Directors who put in so much time and effort to make sure that our credit union is the best around. Those efforts were on display yet again, as CSE was named Ohio’s #1 Credit Union for the second consecutive year in 2021 and the 8th best overall financial institution in the United States.
2021 has proven to be a big year for us here at CSE. Early on, it was clear that 2021 would be special, but it’s clear now that CSE will have had its most impactful and successful year ever, in our 83-year history. It will be in large part, thanks to you, our loyal members for putting your trust in your local credit union.
Through the end of November 2021, CSE has been able to lend $151,659,900 to members, which already represents our single greatest year ever. What does that mean? It means that our Credit Union is taking care of the financial needs of our members and our community. Members use that money to fulfill their lifestyles and, in some cases, to make ends meet which is a much better option than getting loans through predatory lenders. The money CSE loans out directly impacts our local economy, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of that cycle.
Our overall financial performance has put CSE in a better position than ever before to continue to serve our member’s needs. We can do that by continuing to enhance and modernize our existing products and services while working to keep up with emerging trends in the financial services world.
CSE’s ‘best year ever’ couldn’t have happened without the direction of our longtime President and CEO, Stan Barnes, who as you may have heard will be retiring at the start of 2022. We want to thank Stan for the passionate and steadfast manner in which he has directed the credit union not only this year but for the past 28 years.
With a new year comes new opportunities and a new CEO, our CFO, William Wittig, who is eager to continue making CSE the best credit union in Ohio, and the best banking option for our members.
As we bring 2021 to a close, we want to wish every single one of our members a very warm, happy, healthy, and safe holiday season. We look forward to serving all of our members in 2022 and we look forward to the excitement that comes with a new year.
